I can’t believe it – only one week left here in Paris! Then I head back to the states to spend Thanksgiving with my family. Lots to be grateful for!
And, speaking of that, today’s topic is simple and sweet. It’s all about gratitude, and how to feel it and cultivate more of it.
“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.”
So why is gratitude so important? Gratitude is a state of mind; it’s the feeling of love or joy for what you already have in your life. And as I talked about in this post, when we focus on the positive, it keeps us in the moment allowing us to feel happiness and contentment while attracting in more positive energy.
It’s not always easy to get in the mindset of gratitude when it’s not something to which you’re accustomed, or if you’re just having a bad day. But today I’m sharing some exercises for easy ways to start and end your day in gratitude! It’s a simple practice, but you’ll be amazed what it can add to your life.
Every morning before you even get out of bed, have gratitude for how amazing your day will be. Take a second to visualize everything you have planned for the day. See it going smoothly, with love and gratitude.
Here’s another one: Keep a journal or piece of paper by your bed. Every night before you go to sleep, think about the day you just had, or your life in general and write 3 things you are grateful for. This takes 30 seconds, but the ripple effect is powerful! If you’re having one of those days and having a hard time finding something, start with something as simple as “I’m grateful I was breathing today.”
Let us know what you’re grateful for today in the comments below. We’d love to hear from you!
