I’m not sure about you, but I’ve always desired to feel beautiful and radiant. To have that effortless glow. For years I thought feeling beautiful and radiant was a destination not an embodiment. So I walked around with the beliefs like “I’ll feel beautiful when….” I lose the weight, get in shape, use the right facial products, consistently eat the healthiest foods, and on and on and on.
Can you relate?
What I learned last year is that feeling beautiful ultimately comes from loving yourself. And when you feel good about yourself and find your self-worth, your face actually changes. And quickly, as mine did.

Ok, so yes you can argue that my hair is different (which wasn’t a magical change from self-love…I had to pay a hair stylist for that one 🙂 Or you could say that the angle of each picture is different or whatever else you might find. By the way, both photos were taken with the same camera. But what I can’t deny is that the woman on the right is smiling effortlessly. I can see the happiness on my face. And from a pure place of vanity, I just look better.
One of my biggest insecurities has always been how I look in pictures. My mom jokes that I never like myself in any pictures. And it’s true. It got so bad for me earlier last year that I devoted an entire session on this topic with my coach.
And then sometime in June, something happened. I remember suddenly starting to love myself in photos. If felt like an overnight change. And it’s no surprise that this was also the time I really started to embrace my self-worth.
So if you also desire to feel beautiful and radiant…start by loving yourself first. Practice giving love to yourself each day and see what happens. Not only will you feel good, but I’m willing to bet you’ll start seeing physical changes like I did.
